You are invited to join us Thursday November 5 for the opening reception of Hackensack Dreaming, a remarkable installation show that is transforming our gallery. Unlike any show in the past 15 years of our environmental art program, Hackensack Dreaming is a complete spacial experience, inspired by the sweeping marshes of the New Jersey Meadowlands.

Gallery Opening Reception
Thursday, November 5 | 6 – 8 pm

Tucked between a Walmart, outlet malls, and a wastewater treatment plant, yet within view of the New York City skyline, the wetlands of the Hackensack River spoke to artist Nancy Cohen as an “isolated puddle of the organic in a deluge of the human-made.” Cohen’s installation transforms the gallery, creating its own environment and evoking transportation to a wholly new space. Made of glass, handmade paper, and rubber, Hackensack Dreaming explores fragility, perseverance, and the new realities produced by the human and natural colliding in unexpected ways.
