Aline Mare
I am committed to creating eco-conscious works that draw attention to the challenges facing the contemporary world in relation to environmental consciousness.
The included images are examples from my latest body of work that interfaces with artifacts of nature, using digital scanning as a contemporary interpretation of the 19th-century photographic process of cliché verre.
In the latest work, “By the Waterfront” (2013)
I have woven a tapestry of muddied and weathered objects found on a protected shore of the San Francisco Bay, a meeting place of urban and natural environments.
The ‘Photo/synthesis Series”examines metaphors of photosynthesis in nature and its impact on our sense of identity.
