Earthworks: Art in the Landscape of the Late Sixties is a broadly contextualized book on the emergence, ideas and forms of (post)modern Earthworks; published by the University of California Press in 2001. Future plans include writing a book on the subsequent Land and Ecological Art by women from the late 1960’s to the present.
I analyze art from relevant cultural, social, psychological, political and formal perspectives. I invite aritsts to send me announcements of exhibitions and projects and welcome opportunities to write and lecture on Public, Land and Ecological Art’s histories and diverse manifestations. I have been a critic in California and New York for 20 years, and teach art history and MFA seminars at the City College of The City University of New York.
