My interest is in creating works of art that allow the viewer to contemplate the reality of impermanence in all our lives. I look to nature as well as to human experience for my images and inspiration.
My recent project is documenting trees that have been turned into shrines for loved ones who have died or disappeared and photographing roadside memorials to animals and people who have been killed by automobiles. I am drawn to expression of human memory held in nature and to ways that human beings find comfort from loss through their relationship with trees, rocks, and the natural world.
