Borrowing from cycles in nature and modes of measurement, sometimes with humor, my work considers the contradictions between measurement and direct experience. Through abstraction, recontextualization and repetition my work seeks ways of experiencing time directly, disengaging with studied strategy and instead opting for a first-hand account of what is happening in each new moment. This inquiry considers explorations of perception, measurement and language systems.

Using familiar and found materials my work appears straightforward: a book is blown back and forth by fans, branches are wrapped in marking tape, 12 lamps on timers act as a clock, a video appears and a light turns off simultaneously, they trade and then the dance is repeated. And with some time these works appear strange again.
