I like to work in small communities living close to the earth. Although I am frequently involved in quite short projects, I particularly enjoy a residency situation, where I can immerse myself fully within a locality, and allow the work to evolve in its own time, in its own way- become part of life’s eternal movement.

Kamiyama Spiral was made during a 6 week residency in rural Japan, using unique local stone juxtaposed with detailed images of surrounding nature. It is now used as a performance space and a place to relax and look out over the mountain surroundings.
