My lifestyle choices, emotional processes, and relationships with non-human animals play a major role in the development of my creative methodology. The love I share with the animals I care about reminds me of how truly privileged I am to be thought of as a being deserving of acceptance within the human definition of personhood. As an artist, I am responsible for recognizing the symbiosis that exists between humans and other animals. First, I acknowledge my own animality, and then I honor my responsibility towards other beings, whose value is determined by their usefulness based on anthropocentric standards that I intend to challenge.
