Katherine Kuaimoku

Kate Kuaimoku facilitates landscapes for capturing action. By throwing, bludgeoning, and heaving her body into her sculptures and technolandscapes she manipulates forms and bodies. Utilizing post-consumerist materials and outmoded technology she combines divergent techniques such as blacksmithing and software coding into a new language. The management of these technolandscapes combines future and artifact in which arts of defiance, loss, and embodiment take on tangible forms. Researching the space between post-consumerist culture, waste management, trans-national origins, and historical pathways of female rebellion, she attempts to participate and expand her understanding of globalized terrain.
