Award winning artist and teacher paints to preserve Belizean rain forests in Central America. I received an NEA grant in 1993, for a proposal entitled “The Artist as Environmental Activist”. Under auspices of the Programme for Belize, I painted and photographed the rain forest at the La Milpa Research Station and Conservation Area in the northwest quadrant of Belize. Each year I donate a portion of the proceeds from sales of my Rain Forest Collection to Programme for Belize. Additionally, my work, on posters. cards and T-shirts, is sold in Belize to eco tourists to support conservation.
