Bioneers seeks a qualified candidate for a part-time contract role to help us expand the reach of our critically acclaimed, internationally recognized Women’s Leadership Program. The qualified candidate for this role will be familiar with Bioneers and its mission, deep knowledge of communications strategy, and an in-depth familiarity with women’s leadership issues in a cross-cultural, 21st Century context. This is an exciting and dynamic opportunity to help engage and activate the potential of women leaders and build new and diverse models of leadership that are both powerful and accessible.

Roles and Responsibilities

This role serves several key functions:

  • To promote the outreach and distribution and media outreach of Bioneers media content related to Women’s Leadership and Gender Equity in multiple markets and audiences including the general public, relevant groups and educational institutions
  • To develop networks of wild relative organizations and women’s leadership lists
  • To facilitate, manage and help grow networks and working partnerships with aligned groups and leaders working to advance the leadership of women and gender equity
  • To help promote partner and program activities related to defining an emergent paradigm of leadership that emphasizes collaboration, inclusivity and relational intelligence, distinct from existing systems of privilege, control, and domination.
  • To support these programmatic elements at the annual Bioneers conference and to conduct follow-up, documentation and information gathering after the event.
  • To help manage and produce Women’s Leadership podcasts for the Everywoman’s Leadership Program.

  • Everywoman’s Leadership Media Collections
  • “Moonrise” book and study guide
  • Bioneers’ archive of Women’s Leadership-related media
  • Podcasts

Reporting

The person will work directly with the Bioneers Communications Director and interface with the Director of Bioneers’ Everywoman’s Leadership Program Director.

Qualifications

This role requires strong communications and writing skills, and expertise in digital media communications. It requires strong interpersonal communications skills, as well as effective project management ability.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Deep familiarity with digital journalism, outreach and engagement
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Database management
  • Excellent computer and research skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing, in various formats
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to take direction and feedback and put it into practice

Working Conditions

The successful candidate for this position will be creative, flexible, open–minded, and excited about working with youth. Being a self–starter is an absolute must for this position, with a strong desire and will to continue learning and improving collaborative team skills.

This position is contract and project based, but will be tied to the Bioneers HQ in The Presidio, San Francisco. We work in a shared and open work environment. Physical Requirements: This role will be expected to play a role at the Bioneers annual conference which takes place October 21-23, 2016.
