Bob Stern joined WEAD’s Board as Treasurer in 2025. For more than 25 years, he has has run his own tax preparation business and has represented individuals in tax audits.
He has served as a board member, board president, and / or treasurer of the Ecology Center (Berkeley, California), Western States Legal Foundation (Oakland, California), Mateel Community Center (Redway, California), the Bay Area Coalition for Headwaters (Berkeley, California), and other non-profits. He has been a consultant for start-up and ongoing small non-profits and helped to develop and oversee budgets for various non-profits. He has done fundraising for many groups, including writing and editing direct mail solicitations.
He has more than 25 years’ experience working in community radio, primarily at KPFA. He has worked as a news anchor and reporter, liver music producer and engineer, technical support, and freelance editor.
