Come take a seat at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts (SCA) as we announce the opening of ‘Chairs’, an artistic presentation of this common household object. ‘Chairs’ are redefined, reconfigured, and reinterpreted and include the stationary to interactive, with variable form and scale.

Michael Schwager, show juror, is the Gallery Director and Professor of Art History at Sonoma State University. Michael has both curated and exhibited in addition to his ongoing academic career. Michael holds a B.F.A.  from the California College of Arts & Crafts, and an M.A.in Museum Studies from John F. Kennedy University. The ‘Chairs’ Opening Reception, during which Michael will present the ‘Best -in-Show’ and ‘Merit’ awards, will be held Friday, August 7th from 6:00 to 7:30 pm in the Galletta Gallery and is free to the public.

Concurrent shows in Galleries II and III will be ‘The Face of Water’ and ‘Conceal/Reveal’, featuring artists working in and exhibiting throughout Sonoma County.
