EARTHBODY Workshop: Re-Stor(y)-ing the Eco-somatic

Offered on Ohlone lands. Experience simple embodied eco-somatic practices: restoring and re-story-ing body as as earth and earth as body. Rulan Tangen, founding artistic director/choreographer of Dancing Earth, will share her eco-somatic practices through movement and words that compel people of all ages, backgrounds, and capacities to find connection to their inner dreamscape and outer landscape in profound ways. We will come together to embody the relevance of Eco Somatic movement as source, instrument and response for ecological Movement sustainability.
WEAD is excited to be partnering with the Bioneers Conference again this year. Our volunteers will be exhibiting selected members’ work from the recent Bodies and Borders exhibition in Zellerbach Hall, the main hall of the conference, March 26 to 28.
WEAD members Nora Scully and Michelle Santoro will be leading a workshop on “visible mending” at Marsh Arts Center, Cabaret Room, March 28, from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. WEAD will provide samples and tutorials on stitching. Instruction will focus on learning skills, rather than a final product. Needles, thread, buttons and patches will be available for use during the instructions, or bring your knitting and join the mending community!
