Sunday, September 13, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM (PDT)
San Francisco, CA

Meet Wikimedia Foundation’s Chief Communication Officer Katherine Maher and posting trainee Cindy Shih and learn how Wikipedia works, and how entries are made. Find out how Wikimedia foundation, Wikipedia’s parent organization, engages and promotes under-represented communities – including women artists!

Additionally, attendees will learn how the Wikimedia community has created a culture of neutral editors, what edit-a-thons are and how to edit… and how this can be an avenue to give women artists more visibility, locally and world-wide.

Attendees will go home with quick reference and other materials for review and to generate interest in becoming a Wikipedia poster. NCWCA Wikimedia Day is part of this year’s Women and Technology theme and focus.

Tickets to this event must be purchased in advance.
