Bamboo Curtain Studio (BCS) is a non-profit organization founded in 1995. The goal of BCS is to encourage cross-cultural exchanges, national and international, by providing a platform that stimulate new ideas and possibilities.
BCS welcome artist/curator/researcher/ creative worker from around the world for a short residency at BCS. The Studio also aims to create an environment that lifts barriers by providing quality spaces, facilities, and services for on-site production and research. In addition, BCS works closely with local communities to bring awareness about the environment; the project of Art as Environment – A Cultural Action at the Plum Tree Creek has been awarded and recognized nationally and internationally.
Studio support actions:
1. Welcome session.
2. Weekly meeting.
3. BCS update all resident about the artistic and cultural events in Taipei depend on the area of interests of each resident.
4. BCS connects the resident with local artistic and cultural organization and professionals in his/her area of interest.
5. For artist staying more than one month, BCS may invite the resident to organize an event – An open studio, exhibition and artist talks are events whereby the artists can share his/her project with local community or professionals.
