WEAD artist Linda Gass was awarded the prestigious Eureka Fellowship from the Fleishhacker Foundation. She is one of 12 Bay Area artists selected by a panel of three nationally known arts professionals (Doryun Chong, Associate Curator, Museum of Modern Art, New York; Elyse Gonzales, Curator, University Art Museum, UC Santa Barbara, and Abina Manning, Executive Director, Video Data Bank, Chicago). Eligible artists are nominated by local nonprofit visual arts organizations and selection is based solely on artistic merit – the panel reviews sample artwork without information as to the artist’s identity or professional history.
